I would classify this book as “chick lit” for young women and so therefore not the kind of book I usually read. But I took a chance and was happy I did. I greatly enjoyed Sophie Kinsella’s witty tale about a young female lawyer who makes a terrible mistake at work, costing a client 50 million pounds. Or did she? Kinsella never talks down to the reader and her descriptions of the protagonist attempting to pass herself off as a professional housekeeper (while she hides out in disgrace) are hilarious. The deeper message of the book- the importance of work/life balance is an also important issue that many young and not so young women can relate to.
